Pebbledash Render
Pebbledash render is a very traditional type of external render. It has been used for many years on properties throughout the UK and is an effective exterior coating. The traditional application process starts off exactly the same as Sand and Cement Render.
A mixture of sand and cement is applied to the walls that is troweled flat and smooth. Whilst the render is still wet small pebbles are thrown at the wall which form a decorative pebbledash pattern.
The pebbles can be left in their natural state or they can be painted over.

Pebbledash render is very easy to repair if the damage is caught early enough.
This repair will blend in great once it’s been painted to match the rest of the house.
Modern day render systems have now brought a lot more choice to the market for the householder. With the traditional application you are limited to the sand and cement base colour so unless you use a different coloured stone chipping or paint the walls afterwards you are limited in the colour you can have.
Modern renders are through coloured which means that the colour is already present in them when they are applied. They don’t need painting either. You are now able to have pebbledash render in a range of different colours and stone types.
