MONOCOUCHE RENDERING
What Is Monocouche Render?
Monocouche is a through-coloured exterior render designed to provide both a decorative finish and weather-resistant protection in a single render system. The word “monocouche” means “one coat”, reflecting the way the system is designed to be applied compared with traditional multi-layer render finishes.
Because the colour is incorporated into the render itself, monocouche does not normally require painting after application. It is available in a wide range of colours and can be finished with different textures to complement both traditional and contemporary properties.
Monocouche render can be used on suitable new-build properties, extensions and refurbishment projects. The existing substrate and condition of the walls must be assessed carefully to determine whether monocouche is appropriate and what preparation is required.
THE BENEFITS OF MONOCOUCHE RENDER
Why Choose Monocouche Render?
Colour is incorporated throughout the render, providing an attractive decorative finish without the need for regular exterior painting.
Monocouche render provides a protective exterior finish designed to withstand normal exposure to changing weather conditions.
When correctly specified and professionally applied, monocouche provides a hard-wearing finish that requires relatively little ongoing maintenance.
Available in a wide range of colours and textures, allowing the finished exterior to complement both traditional and contemporary properties.
OUR PROCESS
The Monocouche Rendering Process
01
Surface Assessment
The existing walls are assessed to determine their condition, substrate and the preparation required before rendering begins.
02
Surface Preparation
The walls are properly prepared to provide a clean, sound and suitable surface for the chosen monocouche render system.
03
Beads & Reinforcement
Render beads are fitted and reinforcing mesh is incorporated where required, including appropriate stress points and areas identified by the render system specification.
04
Monocouche Application
The monocouche render is mixed and applied to the prepared surface in accordance with the manufacturer’s specification.
05
Creating the Finish
Once the render has reached the appropriate stage, it is finished to create the required texture and an even, consistent appearance.
06
Setting & Final Check
The render is allowed to set under suitable conditions before the completed work is checked for a consistent, professional finish.
COLOURS & FINISHES
Monocouche Render to Suit Your Property
Monocouche render is available in a wide range of colours, allowing the exterior finish to be chosen to complement the style and character of your property. Because the colour runs throughout the render, the finished surface does not normally need to be painted.
The characteristic scraped finish creates a clean, consistent appearance that works well on both traditional and contemporary properties, including homes, extensions and suitable refurbishment projects.
Not every background is suitable for direct application, so we assess the existing walls and substrate before recommending the appropriate preparation and render system.

External render to whole house
Extremely happy with the work Neil has done to our house. It was far from being a straightforward job and he carried it out brilliantly, making sure any issues were discussed with us, and making sure the site was cleaned and clear each night. The job was started and finished on time and to an excellent standard. Would definitely recommend to others.
